RM vs. EVM: material collection

The RM specs introduction concludes nicely with the statement that

the Anoma protocol is similar to the role of the Ethereum Virtual Machine in the Ethereum protocol.

This is an important topic as far as I can see, in particular for “onboarding” members of the Ethereum community. Could we collect here material that describes this relation in more detail (or delete this thread if EVM vs. RM is already covered elsewhere)?

I think there is no real relation, the similarity is in what they achieve on the high level (define what a valid transaction is and enforce these constraints), but they work completely differently, so there is no detail
